John Hancock AMJohn has been based in and worked extensively in the Southeast Asia and Pacific Region since 1970. Over this period he has assisted a wide range of significant multinational companies with their investment and trade strategy implementation in both a business and legal context. His career has involved extensive interaction with relevant governments and private industry throughout the region.
John practiced law with a focus on cross-border investment and mergers and acquisitions for 35 years with the leading global law firm Baker McKenzie, and since 2003 has advised clients as Chairman of the consultancy John W. Hancock & Associates, with a focus on Thailand and Myanmar.
In addition to his experience as an attorney and consultant, Mr. Hancock has many decades of aggregate experience serving as a director of more than 40 different private and public companies in industries including banking, manufacturing, and services and power. He has also played an active role as a director, committee member and advisor of various not-for-profit commerce, industry, educational and recreational sporting organisations.
